Synaptril Fact Check: Five Claims Held Up Against the Research

Quick answer

A Synaptril fact check finds the product facts are accurate: 30 capsules, 80 mg of magnesium, a 575 mg blend and a 60-day guarantee. The performance claims are unproven. No trial of Synaptril exists, and the ingredient research is small, uses other forms or other doses, or shows no brain benefit.

True01

Which Synaptril facts check out?

The product facts check out against the label, and we say so plainly. Synaptril is a dietary supplement in vegetable capsules, 30 to a bottle, with one capsule a day as the direction.

Each capsule lists 80 mg of magnesium, 19% of the daily value, inside a 575 mg proprietary blend of six ingredients in descending order by weight. The distributor is named, and the guarantee runs 60 days from purchase.

These statements are plain description, and we found no error in them. They tell you what is in the bottle, not what it does.

We checked each against the Supplement Facts and the sales page, which we last read on October 18, 2026. The prices, pack sizes and guarantee length matched what we report on our own pages.

The claims02

Is the claim that Synaptril supports the brain true?

No evidence shows that Synaptril supports the brain. The front of the bottle says "Advanced Brain Support*", "Enhances Memory & Focus*" and "Boosts Mental Energy*", and the asterisk leads to the FDA statement that these lines have not been evaluated (21 CFR 101.93, structure/function claims).

The wider research is sobering. The NCCIH states that direct evidence that supplements lower dementia risk is lacking (NCCIH, supplements for cognitive function), and the Global Council on Brain Health endorsed no brain supplement (GCBH/AARP 2019, brain supplements).

The doses03

Do the doses in Synaptril match the studies?

The doses almost certainly do not match, though five of the six amounts are not printed. Our estimate from the label is that magnesium glycinate takes most of the 575 mg blend, which leaves little for the rest.

The studied turmeric dose was 90 mg of curcumin twice daily for 18 months, in a high-absorption form. The label's ceiling for its turmeric line is well under that. This is an estimate, not a lab result.

Blue bars: what one capsule can hold. The label prints only the magnesium amount. For the other lines we show two ceilings: the most the label order allows (575 mg divided by the line number) and our tighter estimate once the magnesium glycinate takes its share (about 175 mg left for five lines). Gold bars: daily amounts used in studies or typical products. Real amounts may be far lower than either ceiling.

Why dose matters

A study that works at 90 mg twice a day says little about a capsule that may hold a fraction of that. Evidence travels with the dose and the form, not with the ingredient name. The same holds for L-carnitine, where the memory studies used a different form from the one on the label (NIH ODS, Carnitine).

Your check04

How can you fact check a supplement yourself?

Fact checking a supplement takes about ten minutes, and the skill carries over to any product. Ask three questions of any supplement: is each amount printed, is there a trial of this exact product, and does the claim promise a result? Red flags include language about reversing memory loss (FDA, Alzheimer's product red flags).

Look at the date and source of every study you meet. A trial in a different group, such as people with disease, does not carry over to healthy adults. A result in cells or animals is a lead, not a finding, and the FTC says so for health claims (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance).

Fact checks also age. A new trial could change the picture, so we date our sources and update the pages when something new is published. Check the review date on any health page you rely on.

Then read the bottle yourself on the Supplement Facts page. If you try the capsules, track your own sleep and focus and use the 60-day guarantee as the deadline for your decision.

FAQ05

Fact check questions

Is Synaptril backed by a published trial?

The label and sales page give no published trial of the product, and we found none. Studies on single ingredients are not studies of Synaptril.

Does the sales page make claims the label does not?

The sales page repeats the label claims and adds price and guarantee terms. Treat any extra promise there with the same caution, and weigh it against what the label prints.

Which Synaptril claim is weakest?

The brain and memory claims are weakest, because no trial of the capsules exists. The product facts, such as capsule count and magnesium amount, are the strongest.

Who checks supplement claims in the US?

The FDA reviews labels and can act against unsafe or illegal claims after sale, and the FTC polices advertising. Neither approves a supplement beforehand.
