Synaptril is a capsule dietary supplement sold as "Advanced Brain Support". You take one capsule a day, and a bottle holds 30. Each capsule lists 80 mg of magnesium from magnesium glycinate inside a 575 mg blend that also holds alpha-lipoic acid, butcher's broom, L-carnitine, turmeric and CoQ10. No study has tested the capsule itself, so we line up each claim with the research.

Drawing from the labelThe bar shows how the 575 mg blend likely splits, worked out from the label: 80 mg of magnesium needs roughly 400-570 mg of magnesium glycinate. It is an estimate, not a lab test, and says nothing about what the capsule does.

What it is01
Synaptril is a once-a-day brain support capsule. It is a dietary supplement, not a medicine, and the FDA did not review its claims.
Synaptril is a dietary supplement in vegetable capsules, sold in white bottles of 30. The front of the bottle reads "Advanced Brain Support*", "Enhances Memory & Focus*" and "Boosts Mental Energy*". Each asterisk points to the standard FDA statement: the claims were not evaluated, and the product is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease (21 CFR 101.93, structure/function claims).
The label lists six ingredients in one 575 mg proprietary blend. Only magnesium has a printed amount: 80 mg, or 19% of the Daily Value. The other five lines are alpha-lipoic acid, butcher's broom root extract, L-carnitine, turmeric extract standardized to 95% curcuminoids, and coenzyme Q10 as ubiquinone.
The bottle names its distributor, Gluco Elixir of Aurora, Colorado. It does not name the factory. The sales page sells 2, 3 or 6 bottles with a 60-day money-back guarantee, and it does not name a single ingredient (Synaptril sales page).

Mysynaptril is an American Synaptril authorized shop. We are not the maker or the distributor, and we earn money when you buy through our order links. Read who runs this site and is Synaptril legit? for the checks we ran.
Claims vs evidence02
No trial shows that it does. Nobody has tested the capsule, and the research on its single ingredients is small, mixed or about other uses.
The honest answer is that nobody knows. We found no published trial of Synaptril. Brain-health experts reviewing supplements as a group found none they could endorse for memory or for preventing decline (GCBH/AARP 2019, brain supplements), and NCCIH says there is no direct evidence that any supplement prevents dementia (NCCIH, supplements for cognitive function).
Claims as printed on the label and the sales page (Synaptril sales page). Health claims need competent and reliable scientific evidence, generally human trials of the same product (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance).
Memory changes that worry you or your family deserve a doctor's visit before any supplement. Medicines, low vitamin B12, thyroid problems and depression can all affect memory, and they are treatable (MedlinePlus, Memory loss). Keep taking prescribed medicine.
Daily use03
One capsule a day with water. The label sets no time of day and no food rule, so pick one time you will keep.
The label says not to use the bottle if the safety seal is damaged or missing. Look before the first capsule, and keep the bottle below 30°C (86°F).
One capsule is one serving, and the label stops at one a day. Swallow it with water. Never double up after a missed day.
The label sets no time of day. Many people tie it to breakfast or another daily habit. Keep any prescribed medicine on its usual schedule.
The money-back guarantee runs 60 days from purchase. Note how you feel at day 30, and decide well before the window closes.

"As a dietary supplement, take one (1) capsule daily." The caution adds: "Do not exceed recommended dose. Not for use for those under the age of 18 or pregnant or nursing mothers. Consult with a physician prior to use especially if you are taking a medication or have a medical condition." Storage: "Store this product in a cool dry place below 30°C (86°F)."
One bottle lasts 30 days at one capsule a day. Never take two to catch up after a missed day. More detail sits on how to take Synaptril.

Blend math05
Only magnesium is printed. Because that 80 mg comes from magnesium glycinate inside the blend, most of the 575 mg is likely glycinate, which leaves little room for the other five.
Step 1. The label prints 80 mg of magnesium "as magnesium glycinate from proprietary blend".
Step 2. By formula weight, magnesium glycinate is about 14% magnesium; buffered grades run up to about 20%. So 80 mg of magnesium needs about 400-570 mg of the compound.
Step 3. 575 mg minus that leaves about 5-175 mg for alpha-lipoic acid, butcher's broom, L-carnitine, turmeric and CoQ10 together.
Our estimate from the label, not a lab test. A blend has to list its total and its order, not single amounts (21 CFR 101.36, supplement labeling). Magnesium figures from NIH (NIH ODS, Magnesium).
Magnesium glycinate is magnesium bound to glycine, so most of its weight is the glycine part. That is why 80 mg of magnesium takes several hundred milligrams of the compound. Our estimate leaves about 5 to 175 mg for alpha-lipoic acid, butcher's broom, L-carnitine, turmeric and CoQ10 together. The label does not print the split, so treat these numbers as ceilings, not amounts.
Dose vs research06
Mostly no. The magnesium is about a fifth of the adult RDA, and the most generous ceilings for the other lines fall short of the doses that were studied.
| Ingredient | Source | What it found |
|---|---|---|
| Magnesium | NIH fact sheet; sleep review (NIH ODS, Magnesium) (Mah & Pitre 2021, magnesium and sleep) | No memory data on the fact sheet; about 17 minutes faster sleep onset in 151 older adults, low-quality evidence |
| Alpha-lipoic acid | Linus Pauling Institute (Linus Pauling Institute, Lipoic Acid) | Small Alzheimer's studies at 600 mg a day; too limited to say if it helps |
| Butcher's broom | EMA monograph (EMA, Rusci rhizoma (butcher's broom)) | Traditional use for heavy legs; no brain or memory use |
| L-carnitine | NIH ODS; Cochrane (NIH ODS, Carnitine) (Cochrane, acetyl-L-carnitine for dementia) | Memory studies used acetyl-L-carnitine at 1.5-3 g; no routine benefit |
| Turmeric | Small 2018 pilot; NCCIH (Small et al. 2018, curcumin and memory) (NCCIH, Turmeric) | One 40-person pilot of a high-absorption form found a memory gain; NCCIH finds no proven benefit |
| Coenzyme Q10 | Linus Pauling Institute (Linus Pauling Institute, Coenzyme Q10) | Typical 30-100 mg; no cognitive benefit in brain-disease trials |

Safety first08
Five questions. A yes means a talk with your doctor or pharmacist first, or extra care at home.
Turmeric may raise bleeding risk with warfarin (MSKCC, Turmeric), and CoQ10 can weaken warfarin's effect (Linus Pauling Institute, Coenzyme Q10). Alpha-lipoic acid may lower blood sugar, so diabetes medicines need a check first (Linus Pauling Institute, Lipoic Acid). Magnesium can block tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics unless the doses are spaced (NIH ODS, Magnesium). More on side effects and interactions.
Turmeric extracts have a well-documented, rare link to liver injury, mostly with high-absorption products (NIH LiverTox, Turmeric). Stop the capsules and call a doctor if you notice yellow skin or eyes, dark urine or unusual tiredness.
Know the signs09
Losing your keys now and then is normal. Getting lost on a familiar route is not. The signs below come from MedlinePlus and the CDC.
Sudden change?Sudden confusion, trouble speaking, or weakness on one side can be a stroke. Call 911.
Signs from MedlinePlus (MedlinePlus, Memory) and CDC (CDC, Signs of dementia). Medicines, low vitamin B12, thyroid problems and depression can all affect memory (MedlinePlus, Memory loss). About 1 in 9 adults 45 and older report memory decline, and fewer than half have told a doctor (CDC, Subjective Cognitive Decline).

What has evidence10
Movement, sleep, mental challenge and time with people. Expert reviews point to these habits, not to any capsule.
One capsule with breakfast is an easy habit to keep. The label sets no time, so any fixed time works. Medicines stay on their own schedule.
Adults need at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week, for example 30 minutes on 5 days, per the CDC.
Brain-health experts point to exercise, sleep, mental challenge and time with people, not supplements.
Adults 18-60 need 7 or more hours; enough sleep helps attention and memory, per the CDC.
Activity from CDC (CDC, Adult physical activity); sleep from CDC (CDC, About Sleep); habits from the Global Council on Brain Health (GCBH/AARP 2019, brain supplements). The capsule time is a suggestion; follow your label.
A national review of dementia-prevention research found encouraging, if not conclusive, evidence for only three things: cognitive training, blood pressure control in people with high blood pressure, and more physical activity (NIH on NASEM 2017 dementia prevention). None of them comes in a bottle.
Verdict11
Our view: a simple daily capsule with a short label and a magnesium dose you can check. Treat it as a supplement, never as care for memory loss.

Badges15
Ten brand badges, each with what it does and does not prove. The label itself prints none of them.

A brand badge. The label names no factory, certifier or audit date.

A brand badge. The label does not mention an FDA-registered facility, and registration is not approval.

The brand's own badge. The label prints no country of manufacture; it names a distributor in Aurora, Colorado.

A brand badge. Nothing on the label shows an outside certification.

A brand badge. The label also lists processed helpers such as magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide.

A brand badge. No formulator is named or credentialed.

A brand badge. No gluten test or certifier is named.

A brand badge. No dairy appears in the listed ingredients.

A brand badge. The capsule shell is hypromellose (vegetable); the source of the stearates is not stated.

Matches the 60-day money-back guarantee on the sales page.
Each badge comes from the brand's own image set. A badge is a claim by the seller, not a certificate: none names a certifier, lab or audit, and the label itself prints none of them. FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold (FDA, Using Dietary Supplements), and health claims in ads need real evidence (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance).
Synaptril is distributed by Gluco Elixir of Aurora, Colorado; the maker is not named. Lot S-26/MY-6594 and CoA S-6594-26-MY are seller references, not lab proof. Read testing and quality.
FAQ16
No question matches. Try another word.
A dietary supplement in vegetable capsules, 30 to a bottle. Each capsule lists 80 mg of magnesium from magnesium glycinate inside a 575 mg blend with alpha-lipoic acid, butcher's broom, L-carnitine, turmeric and CoQ10. The label calls it "Advanced Brain Support".
No study shows that it does, because nobody has tested the capsule. A few of its ingredients have small or mixed results in other forms and at other doses (Small et al. 2018, curcumin and memory) (Linus Pauling Institute, Lipoic Acid), and experts could endorse no brain supplement (GCBH/AARP 2019, brain supplements).
One. The label reads "take one (1) capsule daily" and says not to exceed the recommended dose. It sets no time of day, so pick one you will remember.
No. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold (FDA, Using Dietary Supplements). The label carries the standard statement that its claims have not been evaluated by the FDA.
Ask your doctor or anticoagulation clinic first. Turmeric may raise bleeding risk (MSKCC, Turmeric) and CoQ10 can weaken warfarin (Linus Pauling Institute, Coenzyme Q10), so INR checks may need to be closer. Keep taking your medicine as prescribed.
Thirty days. The bottle holds 30 capsules and the label dose is one a day. The sales page sells 2 bottles as a 60-day supply, 3 as 90 days and 6 as 180 days.
Two bottles are $178 ($89 each) plus shipping, three are $216 ($72 each) and six are $294 ($49 each), with free shipping on 3 and 6. That is about $2.97, $2.40 or $1.63 a day.
The Synaptril label desk writes them. The medical reviewer is not named yet, and the box at the bottom of each page shows where those details will appear once a review is on file.
