Synaptril Advanced Brain Support: Reading the Top Claim on the Label
Synaptril advanced brain support is the top claim on the front label, and it is a structure and function phrase, not a proven result. The FDA has not evaluated it. We found no trial of the capsules, and the Global Council on Brain Health endorsed no brain supplement in its review.

The words01
What does Advanced Brain Support mean on the label?
"Advanced Brain Support*" is a marketing phrase that suggests the capsule helps the brain, without saying how. It carries an asterisk pointing to the FDA statement.
The statement says the claim has not been evaluated by the FDA, and that the product is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease (21 CFR 101.93, structure/function claims). The word advanced has no legal meaning here.
Ask what the claim would look like if it were true. A study would show a change in a test of memory or attention, against a placebo, in a set number of people. Nothing like that has been published for these capsules.
The phrase also names no measure. It does not say memory, speed, mood or sleep. A claim that names nothing is hard to prove wrong, which is one reason such wording is common.
The brain icon and the blue pixels add to the effect. Pictures suggest a result the words do not state. We read the claim as a hope on the bottle, not as a finding.
The evidence02
Is there evidence for brain support from these ingredients?
No, we found no trial showing that these ingredients, at the label's likely doses, support the brain. Research on single ingredients is small, mixed or about other forms.
The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health says it has no direct evidence that supplements prevent dementia (NCCIH, supplements for cognitive function). A national panel found only cognitive training, blood pressure control and physical activity encouraging (NIH on NASEM 2017 dementia prevention).
- Label front“Advanced Brain Support*”Structure/function wording, allowed with the FDA asterisk statement. It is not a disease claim, and FDA did not review it. (21 CFR 101.93, structure/function claims)
- Label front“Enhances Memory & Focus*”No trial of Synaptril was found. The Global Council on Brain Health could endorse no brain supplement ingredient or product. (GCBH/AARP 2019, brain supplements) (NCCIH, supplements for cognitive function)
- Label front“Boosts Mental Energy*”The label lists no caffeine or stimulant. CoQ10 helps cells make energy, but trials in brain diseases found no cognitive benefit. (Linus Pauling Institute, Coenzyme Q10) (NCCIH, Coenzyme Q10)
- Blend line 1Magnesium glycinate, 80 mg of magnesiumAbout a fifth of the adult RDA. No memory trial of magnesium was found; a small review saw faster sleep onset in older adults. (NIH ODS, Magnesium) (Mah & Pitre 2021, magnesium and sleep)
- Blend line 4L-carnitineThe memory studies used acetyl-L-carnitine at 1.5-3 g a day, a different form, and a Cochrane review found no routine benefit. (NIH ODS, Carnitine) (Cochrane, acetyl-L-carnitine for dementia)
- Blend line 5Turmeric extract, 95% curcuminoidsThe one positive memory pilot used Theracurmin, a high-absorption form, at 180 mg of curcumin a day. Plain curcumin is poorly absorbed. (Small et al. 2018, curcumin and memory) (NCCIH, Turmeric)
- Sales page“100% Satisfaction or Your Money Back”A 60-day money-back guarantee from purchase. Every bottle must come back, and return postage is not refunded. (Synaptril sales page)
Claims as printed on the label and the sales page (Synaptril sales page). Health claims need competent and reliable scientific evidence, generally human trials of the same product (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance).
The chart sets each quoted claim against the evidence we found.
By ingredient03
What does each ingredient add to brain support?
Each ingredient has a different story, and none is a proven brain aid at this dose. The table shows the best-known use of each.
| Ingredient | Best-known use | Brain evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Magnesium glycinate | Mineral intake | None for memory |
| Alpha-lipoic acid | Antioxidant, nerve research | Small studies, too limited |
| Butcher's broom | Heavy legs (EU use) | None |
| L-carnitine | Energy metabolism | Studied as acetyl form |
| Turmeric extract | Traditional spice | Small pilot, other product |
| Coenzyme Q10 | Cell energy | No benefit in trials of disease |
The ingredients may have uses elsewhere. The point is that "brain" is not among the proven ones. See each line on the Synaptril ingredients page.
The magnesium line is the one we can size. At 80 mg it gives about a fifth of a 420 mg RDA, which helps with intake. The other five lines are small and unprinted, so they cannot carry a claim of their own.

What supports the brain better than a capsule?
Activity, sleep and staying mentally engaged have better evidence than any supplement. The CDC advises 150 minutes of activity a week and at least 7 hours of sleep (CDC, Adult physical activity). Poor sleep alone can hurt learning and focus (NHLBI, Sleep Deprivation).
A simple plan costs nothing: a daily walk, a fixed bedtime and one new thing to learn each week. Do those first, and add a supplement only if you still want one.
If memory worries you, see a doctor. Medicines, low B12, thyroid problems and low mood can all affect memory, and each is treatable (MedlinePlus, Memory loss). A capsule would only hide the cause.
Stay on any prescribed medicine, and never alter it because of a supplement.
If you still choose Synaptril, treat the top claim as a hope, not a promise. Our does Synaptril work page weighs all three claims. The 60-day guarantee lets you test it at low risk, though return postage is yours.

FAQ05
Questions about the claim
Is Advanced Brain Support a proven result?
No. It is a structure and function phrase. The FDA has not evaluated it, and no trial of Synaptril has been published to show an effect.
Does Advanced Brain Support mean Synaptril prevents dementia?
No. The label makes no such claim, and a supplement may not claim to prevent or treat a disease. No supplement has been shown to prevent dementia.
How can I check a brain support claim?
Look for a trial of the exact product, in people like you, at the same dose. If a label only names ingredients, the claim rests on hope, not proof.
Does the brain icon on the bottle mean anything?
It is artwork. The pixel-brain icon sits above the name and has no legal or scientific meaning. It cannot show that the capsules act on the brain.
